Youth Soccer Complex Improvement Project Campaign

Dear Member of the Hayward Community,

Supporting youth soccer is a prime opportunity for your business or organization to help the kids in our community to develop teamwork skills, prepare them for a successful future, and provide outdoor physical activity.

The Hayward United Soccer Club is a community based (501-3c) non -profit organization committed to providing a high-quality youth soccer program for kids in the Sawyer County area.

The soccer program serves over 200+ families per year that participate in soccer throughout the year. It is the club's goal to be self-sustaining in future years, however, we are not there yet. We are currently seeking sponsors to make field improvements, further develop the club, and keep players fees reasonable so all can play.

Improvements to the soccer field complex are planned over 3 phases and described below.

Please consider this important contribution opportunity in any amount.

We appreciate your consideration and hope to hear from you soon. If you have any questions, please contact the Club President, JP Dujardin, at (715) 634-3252 or email us at:

History of Soccer Complex

  • 20 acres acquired in 1999 to support youth soccer in the Hayward area is located 5 miles out of town .
  • Initial work to establish fields included picking rocks from the former pasture
  • Current configuration consists of 14 fields, equipment storage garage, and shed for concessions
  • Over the past few years the fields have been damaged by skunks which dig and rip up sections of sod. Damage was extensive in the fall 2019 and spring of 2020
  • Soccer complex lacks electricity, water, club house and permanent restrooms
  • Goal to make improvements over next 5 years in 3 phases

Phase I

  • After years of patching damage to the fields along with the extensive damage in the spring of 2020, the decision was made to establish a new playing surface on 10 of 20 acres.
  • To start the process, fields were disked on a weekly basis to prep them for leveling.
  • Surface will be leveled by a dozer and prepared for seeding. Areas previously unusable due to depressions will become usable for play.
  • After fields are leveled pick rocks and smoothed, they will be treated with lime, seeded and fertilized.
  • Finished result will be 10 acres of safe, level fields with quality turf
  • Fundraising goal of $25,500

Phase II

  • Start after completion of Phase I
  • Remaining 10 acres will be leveled and reseeded in a similar fashion as Phase and irrigation System installed on one field for each age group .
  • Fundraising goal of $35,000.
  • Completion of Phases I and II will meet need of having safe level playing surfaces for entire 20 acres of soccer complex

Phase III

  • Build a new clubhouse that includes restrooms, concessions, and a pavilion
  • A well has been drilled at the soccer complex but a well pump and associated plumbing are needed to complete the water supply
  • Establish electrical service on site through conventional power supply or solar panel system
  • Install septic system
  • Fundraising goal of $100,000
